Can I ring for a car insurance quote?
Yes - you can contact us on 18909 27334. However our budget deals are on the internet.
What type of cover is available?
There is only one type of cover that can be applied to a car insurance policy - comprehensive.
Comprehensive - this cover means you will be covered for loss of or damage to your vehicle caused in an accident, or by vandalism, fire, or theft. You are also covered for damage you cause to other people's vehicle or property in an accident, or for injuries they sustain.
What is an excess?
There are two types of excess that can be applied to a car insurance policy - compulsory excess and voluntary excess.
Compulsory excess - This is an amount set by your insurer that you would pay in the event of a claim if your vehicle is lost, stolen or damaged. The amount of excess may vary depending on the type of claim.
Voluntary excess - Like a normal excess this is the amount that you would pay in the event of a claim, but it is in addition to any compulsory excess stated on your policy. The amount of voluntary excess that you opt to pay can only be agreed when you first take out or renew a policy.
When is an Excess Paid?
Excess on car policies is paid direct to the repairer by the client, on collection of their vehicle following satisfactory repairs, or deducted from settlement on theft or total loss claims.
Why pay Voluntary Excess?
The more voluntary excess that you opt to pay at the inception of the policy, the lower your premium will be - as a discount is given for opting to pay a voluntary excesses.
What is a No Claims Discount?
You will get a discount on your insurance each year if you do not make a claim. No Claims Discount can be transferred between insurers providing you can prove that you have not made a claim, however if you have made a claim recently, you can still transfer any remaining discount between insurers but this may be at a reduced level. The amount of no claims discount available to you will be on your renewal notice from your current insurer. If a claim is made or arises under your insurance, the discount you receive when you renew your insurance may be reduced or lost. It is the number of years' claim free that is important rather than the actual percentage, as this varies from insurer to insurer.
How does Protected No Claims Discount work?
Protected No Claims Discount can generally be included when you are earning maximum no claims discount. By paying an extra premium you can protect your well-earned discount from being reduced in the event of a claim. However, this option can only be included when you first take out a policy or renew it, and you are usually limited to making only 2 claims every 5 years.
What payment options are there?
